Join the Center for Women’s and Gender Studies for warm food and great discussion on Friday, November 17th for their upcoming event, “Grateful for Each Other Get Together: A Friendsgiving Gathering of Good Ideas.”

- What: A Friendsgiving Gathering of Good Ideas, where speakers will address a range of topics relevant to LGBTQ lives, cultures, and histories. Lunch will be provided!

This event is an installment in the CWGS’s Silver Anniversary Speaker Series, a dynamic and informative speaker series put on to celebrate the Center’s 25th anniversary!
The event is open to all members of our community.
The CWGS describes the topics that will be discussed at the Grateful For Each Other event as follows:
“Speakers will address a wide range of topics relevant to LGBTQ lives, cultures, and histories:
- From growing up gay in conservative rural areas and becoming a poet;
- To loving yourself as a Black queer neurodivergent person and building a Black, queer, and trans neurodivergent community online;
- To preserving a history of LGBTQ creativity through archival library acquisitions of over a hundred years of zines;
- To supporting homeless LGBTQ youth;
- And giving back to the community through mentoring Black LGBTQ youth.”
The event has been co-sponsored by community partner organizations PFLAG Spartanburg and the Spartanburg County Foundation LGBT Fund.
