Rebuilding our space with Spartanburg Area Conservancy

Edit 11/06/2024: Our Engage Green program wraps up for the semester this month, but check out SPACE’s social media for announcements about ongoing volunteer events and stay tuned for next semester!

While the aftermath of Helene and its massive impact on the landscape of Spartanburg Area Conservancy’s well-loved properties like the Cottonwood Trail, Glendale Shoals, and Upper Chinquapin Greenway is nothing short of stunning, the SPACE team isn’t letting anything get in their way as they move full-steam ahead on restoration efforts. Our hearts and hands are with them as our community works to rebuild the spaces that, for many of us, make Spartanburg feel like home.

As our 2023-’24 USC Upstate Community Partner of the Year, SPACE has provided meaningful experiential learning opportunities for our students through our ongoing Engage Green initiative, which will continue with a new focus on rebuilding after Helene.

Anyone with the means to help may contact SPACE to learn more about their upcoming trail restoration efforts and other volunteer opportunities, listed below, or learn more about donating to the SPACE Hurricane Helene Clean-Up Efforts.
