Seeking to celebrate and support this without duplicating the important work already being done by various units, we distinguish Community-Engaged PCIs from others per the following criteria:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>professional experience in a workplace culture that is dedicated to community engagement <em>(vs. primarily for profit)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>overt communication with students about at least one NACE SLO with associated assessment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be <strong>eligible for SL\/CE funding<\/strong>, CE PCIs must also demonstrate guided reflection throughout the full course including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>active mentoring by both the instructor and community partner(s)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>organized peer discussion with other interns in F2F or virtual venues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information visit our <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uscupstate.edu\/faculty-staff\/faculty-tool-kit\/SLCE-instructor-resources\/developing-a-SLCE-course\/SLCE-course-designation-application-overview\/\" target=\"_blank\">SL\/CE Course Designation<\/a> page and\/or <a href=\"mailto:marlowd@uscupstate.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">email Dave<\/a> to get a personalized template for your application. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We recognize the immense value of experiential learning in developing career readiness in our students.
