La’Porscha Smalls (English & Honors ’15) stands as a testament to the power of determination, intellect, and passion. As a graduate of USC Upstate, she has carved an extraordinary path for herself not only as an accomplished attorney, but also as the CEO of her own entertainment company, L.Tonise Presents Entertainment.
After earning her degree from USC upstate, Smalls embarked on a legal career that has been nothing short of remarkable. Over the last five years, her commitment to justice and her ability to navigate complex entertainment law and civil law quickly garnered attention. From understanding felony law for crimes against children to entertainment law and practicing civil law, she has become a beacon of inspiration for aspiring talents.
Her journey as a trailblazer in the legal field began at John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia. There, she undertook a rigorous six-week class to assess her aptitude for the law. It was an intensive and competitive program. Smalls was one of few who successfully completed the program. Smalls held legal internships during law school and began working in a district attorney’s office immediately after passing the bar. She now serves as a trial attorney for State Farm.
In addition to her legal career, Smalls’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her own entertainment company shortly after graduating from USC Upstate. As the CEO, she has created a platform for artists and her team members to thrive. The business began with a single event. During the event, Smalls was able to establish a lot of connections and sign on many sponsors. Today, that work has grown into the Power Entertainment Networking Project, which hosts regular events and is centered in Atlanta, Georgia.
Smalls’s strength and drive is evident in every aspect of her life. She is strong willed and passionate and overcomes any challenge with an unwavering commitment to her goals. Her work extends far beyond her professional achievements. She is a symbol of empowerment and embodies resilience and inspiration to anyone who dreams big and works hard.
