SHRCC & WGST 101

Dr. Esther Godfrey’s Introduction to Women’s & Gender Studies classes partner with the SAFE Homes-Rape Crisis Coalition. The coalition seeks to “use our collective voice to address the impact of domestic and sexual violence by providing quality services to those affected and to create social change through education, training, and activism” (shrcc.org/).  Pictured below, Dr. Godfrey (front, center) poses with WGST 101 students while supporting SHRCC’s mission through beautification of a residential facility. Students also serve in the resale shop, promote domestic violence and sexual assault awareness, and coordinate a clothing drive for women and children in need, directly applying concepts from their coursework to the real world and our immediate community.
