Student success is Kristi Miller’s, Assistant Professor of Nursing, top priority. In her continuous quest for course improvement, Dr. Miller participated in both the Engaged Pedagogy & Hybrid Course Design Institute with CAIFS and in the OER and Affordable Resources Grant Competition with the Library for two courses. The goal? Make the courses as affordable and transparent as possible to ensure equity and access… and emphasize the importance of closely reading directions. She tells the students, “…think of the directions I write you as a prescription that a physician has written. You have to pay attention to every detail.”

Watch the 11-minute video below to see how Dr. Miller designed her NURS 306 course to maximize transparency and help her students master the critical hard and soft skills they’ll need in their future careers!
